How to flash a ROM

* Requires root

Flashing a new ROM is actually a really simple process. There are two ways that I’ll outline here. The standard Recovery method, and using ROM Manager.

Install ROM using ClockworkMod Recovery

    First, make sure you have a good Nandroid backup, and Titanum Backups of all your data that you care about.

    Next download your ROM to the root of your SD card.

    Reboot into Recovery

    Select “wipe data/factory reset” (You did remember your backups right?)

    Select “install zip from SD card”

    Select your ROM, and it will begin installing.

Install ROM using ROM Manger

    Make Titanum Backups of all your data that you care about.

    Download your ROM to your SD card

    Open ROM Manager

    Select “Install ROM from SD card”

    Select your ROM

    Check both options (Make a backup & wipe cache)

    Your phone will reboot into recovery and start installing the ROM immediately.
